Hook and Ladder was founded by a firefighter. It donates about half a cent per bottle sold to local burn treatment centers. It asks its distributors to match the donation. Definitely a worthy cause. Let's see how the beer is.
It has a light amber color with a full head. It has a very clean aroma with a touch of malt.
It has a nice malt flavor throughout. In fact, it's more pronounced in the bottle than poured into a glass. There is a hint of honey that stays on the tongue. Even with the pronounced sweetness of malt and honey, under it all it still tastes like a mass produced American beer. It reminds me a lot of JW Dundee's Honey Brown Lager.
So, a good beer for a worthy cause.
