Hoegaarden White Ale: 22

Taste: 7 Finish: 7 Visual: 5 Aroma: 3
Total: 22

The new "it" beer is Hoegaarden White. It's an extremely refreshing wheat beer brewed with coriander and orange peel. It pours well and has a bright pale yellow color which is clouded by the yeast. Visually very nice. The aroma is mild of bread and citrus. Could use a bit more umph.

The flavor is very light. Just a touch of bitterness. The coriander really punches through. Personally, I don't get the orange peel. I get lemon peel and juice. But mild. There is a mild tartness to it as well.

I like the beer. It would be great on a hot summer day (which is what it's made for). But the flavor is light. It could use a bit more to it. I compare it very closely to Blue Moon. Hoegaarden is probably a tad more subtle. A very good beer that is step back from great. But this is probably one of the best beers on tap in many places so enjoy.
