It has a nice dark brown color with a hint of red. The head is small. The aroma is of sweet malt.
It has a decent sweet malt upfront along with the sharpness of the carbonation. Towards the mid the cream starts to pick up. In the back and on the finish is a very mild chocolate flavor. It leaves a bit of chocolate on the tongue. There is a tinge of hops and smoke under it all.
A flavorful yet mild scottish ale. It's close to a porter in character. Very drinkable.
